Strength in the Lord – July 18, 2010

Dear Sisters in Christ,

I am so glad that my blog is up and going and we can have this time together.  I have been reminded this past week of the tremendous battle we face as Christians everyday.  I was starting to feel overwhelmed with life.  Have you ever felt that way?  I am trying to finish a history class that is taking more time than I had expected when I set out to complete it in a month.  But I think much of my anxiety comes when I start looking too far into the future.  One thing the Lord continues to teach me is to focus on one day at a time.

He wants you and me to focus on the day at hand and trust Him to see us through that day.  I often pray at the beginning of the day, Lord orchestrate my day for me – walk hand-in-hand with me.  But most importantly, help me to trust You with my day, and how ever it plays out to realize that You have been in charge all day long.  The contentment comes for me at the end of the day when I can give my day back to the Lord and tell Him thanks for all that He brought my way – the planned and the unplanned things.

I leave you with a quote from C.H. Spurgeon: “We are in Christ’s hands. Under no circumstances can anyone, by any scheme, remove us from being His favorites, His property, and His protected children. What a blessed promise!” taken from “Beside Still Waters” pg. 227.

The Battle is the Lord’s!  Amen!

In His Love,

Robyn Joy

Love this site my friend! Beautiful, just like you. Funny, yet I think I needed to read AGAIN about the one step-at-a-time thing, looking too far up the mountain overwhelms even the strongest. Looking forward to read what the Lord lays on your heart!
